Last updated 14 October 2026. Ensi AI is a free beta. This page explains, in plain words, what we keep and why.

What we store

• Your account: your email, the name you give, your password in a scrambled form that cannot be turned back into the password, your language and app settings, and when you joined and last signed in.
• Your chats: your messages and Ensi's replies, so you can see them again on any device. If you send photos, we keep small copies of them with the chat.
• Sign-in sessions: a random code in a cookie keeps you signed in. We store a scrambled copy of it, the type of device, and a scrambled form of your internet address (never the address itself).
• Counts: how many messages are sent per day, in which languages, and how often something fails. These counts contain no message text.

Without an account, your chats stay on your phone only. We count how many messages are sent from your (scrambled) internet address each day, to keep the free allowance fair.

Who else sees your messages

To answer you, Ensi AI sends what you write, say or photograph to these services:

• Sunbird AI (Uganda): replies in Ugandan and other African languages, turning speech into text, reading replies aloud, and recognising languages.
• Experiential Labs: replies in English, looking at photos, and recognising languages.
• Cloudflare: runs the app and stores the database.
• Resend: sends account emails (confirming your email, resetting your password), if email is switched on.

Voice recordings are sent to Sunbird AI to be turned into text. Ensi AI does not keep the recordings. Do not share passwords, bank details or other secrets in a chat.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your data or show ads.
• The owner of Ensi AI can see how many people use the app and how many messages are sent, but the admin page does not show anyone's messages.

Download or delete your data

Signed in, go to Settings:

• Download my data gives you a file with your account details, all your chats and stored photos.
• Delete my account removes your account, chats and photos from our database straight away. This cannot be undone.
• You can delete single chats from the chat list at any time.

Error logs at Cloudflare, which never contain message text, are removed automatically after a few days.

Free beta

Ensi AI is new and free. Things may change or break, and we may reset the service. If this page changes in an important way, we will say so in the app.
